The Democratic Party's primary function is to kill all leftward movement in the United States to ensure Americans remain too poor and powerless to interfere in the operation of the empire. The ability of the plutocratic class to manipulate public thought at mass scale is the single most overlooked and under-appreciated aspect of our society.

The same people angrily rejecting #ForceTheVote because it's not exactly 100% perfect in every conceivable way just spent all year telling progressives they need to vote for a right wing anti Med4All, segregationist, war monger, Joe Biden. They tell you now is not the time to push for Medicare for All. First you must wait until all the Blue Dog Dems are primaried, then you must wait until Dems have a veto-proof super-majority in the House and Senate, then you must wait until a fake MSM-led antisemitism scandal takes it all away.

You don't push politicians to do the right thing because you think they will, you do it to show everyone else that they won't. You pressure the system to do what it’s supposed to be doing(fight for Med4All), and then when it doesn’t, you shine a big bright light on the lock they’ve placed on the door and make a lot of noise about it so that people can see they’ve been trapped.

Here we have one side arguing that AOC©️ and the rest of 'The Squad' ©️ were elected to advance progressive policies so that's what they should do, and the other side arguing that AOC©️ is cool so shut up and leave her alone. The Progressives task is to turn the lights on. The Dem status quo task is to keep them off. The side that wins this battle is the side that wins it all.

Things won't change until a critical mass of people becomes aware that they are happening and how they are happening. Once this awareness has sufficiently spread, there's not actually anything our rulers can do to stop us from using the power of our numbers to force real change. This is also why there's so much value in getting a political system which doesn't serve the people to expose itself. First and foremost the quest is to spread awareness of what's really going on to as many people as possible; people need to become aware that they've been duped.

Americans will not be given Medicare for All despite overwhelming public support because so much power depends on keeping them poor so they don't interfere in the affairs of a nation which serves as the hub of a global empire.

Jimmy Dore's exercise right now is to expose the final holdouts that think "Progressives" in the Democratic party are working for them. And it's working beautifully. We have an economy built on war, we don’t have basic social programs other countries take for granted, our quality of life is diminishing, our behavior on the world stage is repulsive beyond words. You shouldn’t be upset that people like Jimmy Dore are angry, you should be wondering why you’re not.

Goddamn, that felt cathartic to listen to. Much of the stuff you guys said in this episode was stuff that I have been thinking or saying (when I’ve made the mistake to wade into this all on twitter) for the last couple weeks. This whole thing has been completely fucking weird and I’m feeling pretty cynical about lots of things right now. I’m not saying everyone who doesn’t support the Force the Vote strategy is perfect and rational and reasonable, but the amount of vitriol and abuse and mischaracterization and corny ass “purges” and lists that many of the vocal supporters who have latched onto the idea is completely unnecessary and disproportionate.

Why over this specific and, to be honest, stupid thing? There’s no way to actually talk to anyone who disagrees with the “side” I mostly align with like I would anything else, it’s instantly insane accusations about being Nancy Pelosi/s CIA goons who infiltrated DSA or whatever the fuck, and lying about/mischaracterizing what myself and others have said or are actually arguing, etc. Even people who like and thought I respected, despite not always agreeing with them on everything, are falling into that. Podcast hosts who wrote articles about their position are reacting to another writer engaging with that piece by writing a counter argument by accusing them of being willfully disingenuous and (in one case) trying to treat things like a philosophy class (?) and then go on to slam them in totally unnecessary and hypocritcal ways. EVERYONE who doesnt agree with them is a liar, an op, a neoliberal, patronizing, a wrecker, a rank puller, a rich kid, a disconnected philosopher, disingenuous, only focusing on asshole Dore and no ]t the actual “strategy”, thinks AOC is their personal friend, hasnt ever actuallly needed health insurance in their life, etc. This is the high water mark for having a normal one.

i couldn't listen to more than an hour of TYT type discourse. I'm so so tired of the inside the beltway discourse. But now I'll move ahead in the audio.

I'm not a Jimmy Dore listener or fan but thanks for letting your listeners know that you all cannot distinguish the messenger from the larger message about M4A. I'm involved in a M4A Coalition in NC and I guarantee you we are desperate to hold feet to the fire on this question, including from Congress people (like mine) who list as co sponsors of the bill.
